On April 25th 2013.We were invited for the exclusive food preview for (California Pizza Kitchen) CPK Mexican food Festival “Mexifornia”.
A set of passionate food bloggers across India where invited to the outlets of CPK in India.CPK had invited me for Indiranagar Restaurant.
there were 8 bloggers from Bangalore who were invited for Indiranagar restaurant of CPK.Priyanka is the one who invited us for the food review played perfect host.We arrived at 7.30 pm and we were taking for “behind the scenes” “Kitchen tour”. It was amazing experience to see the play area of the renowned Chefs.
The Head Chef “Kuldeep Bharani” welcomed us and took us for the guided tour of the kitchen.He explained and showed us the wood fire pizza oven which was imported from US.The whole process of cooking in the kitchen is so systematic.the precision and speed at which they are cooking was remarkable.
We were seated in the table and were offered drinks.The spread of mocktails ,cocktails and beer was pretty refreshing.
The best was yet to come.”Kuldeep Bharani” got us the Starters.the authentic Mexican Fire Roasted Enchiladas.
The fusion of Italian and Mexican cuisine.
This is the first time i was having mexican food and i must say, i was totally bowled over. the flavors were oozing out and it has such a refreshing taste, the crunchiness were felt.
After the Starter, We were again invited to watch the master craving his masterpiece.The Making of Pizzas.
The Main course for the veggies was the “Baja pizza”.It was a thin crust pizza and i must say it was one of the best pizzas i have ever had:). it was a treat to eyes and also to taste buds.it has a special baja tangy sauce made by CPK and fresh vegetables,and olives, cream whipped on it.Every slice of the pizza was relished upon.
Though we were quite stuffed up by now , we had some more surprises yet.One of them were the typical snack of Mexico. Authentic Mexican Taco stuffed with Paneer.The Taco had coleslaw with paneer and mayo stuffed in it and it was accompanied by Mexican Rice.
A complete Mexican meal which is never complete with a desert.
The Dessert as expected came with a bang. it was none other than “Chocolate mousse with Mexican churros”.Though it tasted sugar free and was rich in chocolate and the churros was perfect with the mousse.
As we had it, we Requested Kuldeep to give us a helping of the World Famous Signature Desert of CPK “Tiramisu”.It is made of ladyfingers dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone cheese, and flavored with Marsala wine and cocoa.
Though we were already stuffed till brim, we couldn’t miss this out.We had a generous helping to satisfy our tiramisu craving and appetite.
Finally, finished a royal feast fit for the king.I truly enjoyed the delicious Mexican food and would love to try it again.
