Hotels and restaurants have been part of Bangalore development recently. One of the new additions to Bangalore Star hotels list is Bengaluru Marriott Hotel, Whitefield.
Being one of the few bloggers who was invited for an exclusive Mixology Session of mixing Signature Cocktails at M Bar, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel, Whitefield on 2nd August 2013.We braved the traffic of peak time and reached the venue on Friday night.
We were welcomed by the F&B Director of Marriott Hotel, Vivin Kuriakose. It was a very hospitable welcome and the ambience of the open bar was very inviting. The look and feel of the M bar was indeed at par with the finest of Bars in the town. The Agenda of the day was their 6 new signature Cocktails.
The Menu also was designed very intricately which looks like a newspaper. It contains lots of information about the drinks, history & geography of it. We started of our tasting session of cocktails with M Bloody Mary.
M Bloody Mary was made of Fresh Tomato Juice and Chilly Vodka with Worcestershire sauce. The Bartender actually showed us the preparation step by step which was a delight to watch. As we had our drink, our first impression was a hint of spice that hit our throat and we enjoyed the drink.
Ink fillers were on the counter that was for a different reason altogether. It contains add-on vinegar, lime , Tamarind juice .
To accompany the cocktails, we were served Nachos and dip. It was perfect combination.
The next in the list was Pomegranate & Basil Martini. It was made with Home infusion of vodka paired with fresh pomegranate and basil shaken with grand marnier and lime juice. It was a very invigorating drink which smoothed my mind and soul. A perfect drink for a perfect start of weekend.Food accompaniment was hummus and carrot & cucumber sticks which was tasty and healthy.
The next one was Orange mojito which is a classic mojito made with orange flavored white rum and sparkling water. The bartender was elegant and skillful in doing his routine of Signature Cocktails with ease.
The fourth one in the row was Tequila Colada which was made of Tequila and Malibu infused with macerated pineapple and shaken with coconut milk served frozen. It had really nice flavors attached to it and was definitely a drink, worth a try.
Veg kebab platter and Veg rolls were served to go with the drinks and it was just creating magic.
The next one sounds different, but exactly stands by its name,Down and dirty martini which is made of olive macerated with brine and vodka with a splash of dry vermouth. It was a good drink to taste. Preferably for men.
The last one to finish of the wonderful mixology session was M Cosmopolitan which is a classic cosmopolitan served shaken with vodka infused with cranberries, grand marnier, cranberry juice & lime juice. Couldn’t find a better way to sign off such a great evening, high on spirits and talks. It was really a pleasant ambiance.thought music was missing as it was an open bar but nevertheless a good place to hang out with friends for a good ol drink.
A picture speaks a thousand words. So i am sure, you are raring to try it out this weekend and i bet, u wont regret.
