The Black Dog history with a sign off on the product story of TGR

The story of Black Dog as we know it, it’s fitting to know the extraordinary gentleman who inspired it- Sir Walter Millard. Dated in 1883, 131 Years ago, when Sir Walter Millard sailed from mumbai in search of the perfect Scotch Whisky to the Speyside region of Scotland. He travelled to Leith in Edinburgh, home of the MacKinlay’s – Scotch whisky royalty! Joining hands with James MacKinlay, Sir Walter Millard found his destination. It has a unique taste, aromatic smell and smooth effect on the palate that was widely appreciated and finally he got his perfect whisky and as the history goes,Sir Walter Millard was a keen ‘Angler’ and named the Scotch after his favourite fishing fly – the Black Dog.

Over generations, Black Dog Scotch Whisky is being matured and blended by the master blender and the current master blender is Richard Patterson has been instrumental in the success of Black Dog with such perfect consistency and flavour maintained unanimously.

Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve is the nice kid off the block, as the name itself suggests, is the only blended Scotch that is produced involving a triple maturation process

The triple maturation process which involves Grain whiskies and Malt whiskies separately matured in American Bourbon Casks and then blended together and matured again in Oloroso Sherry Butts for an extra longer period of time to give the blend a distinctive flavour and a delicate finish

As per the consumer research conducted on the blend of TGR, it has been appreciated and accepted as a parallel to any 12 Y.O blended scotch
