Teppan: Land of the Rising Sun in Bengaluru – Teppanyaki Gastronomical Experience !!!!

Lately, had been visiting quite a few Japanese Restaurants in town and kinda developed a liking for sushi and other Japanese delicacies!!! Amongst all my visits,Teppan stands out for its memorable experience.

“Teppan” is a brain child of Oriental Cuisines Private Limited (OCPL) which is one of the finest Japanese Restaurants i have ever visited and the highlight of the place is for being the first Japanese Restaurant in India to have 4 stand-alone Teppanyaki grill which allows you to have a personalized one of its kind experience with the chef and beyond.

For those, who haven’t heard of Teppanyaki. it is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which means iron plate, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. In Japan, teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki..Click here to know more about Teppanyaki

The ambience and the decor at the restaurant is very authentic that transforms you to the “Land of the Rising Sun”.We had the pleasure of meeting the Corporate chef of OCPL chef Aji Joseph who is associated with Oriental Cuisines for more than a decade. We had a chat session with him where he shared us the USP of Teppan which dosnt just offer scrumptious authentic Japanese food but is combined as a package with the experience of teppanyaki that makes it a complete package.Teppan’s master chefs have been flown down from all across the globe to provide the authentic taste of Japanese cuisine in India.

As We were seated at the teppanyaki table,The courteous staff offered us the array of assorted sushi platter such as the Kappa Maki,(Shredded cucumber rolled with sushi vinegared rice),Sanshoko maki (Iceberg lettuce, cucumber, carrot, rolled with Sushi vinegar rice, topped with Avocado) Oishi Kyuuri Maki ( Avacado, cucumber rolled with sushi vinegar rice & nori coated with Japenese batter, deep fried, dressed with teriyaki sauce & Japanese Mayo),were served. The sushi were perfectly made with sticky rice and vegetables as i am aware how tough it gets to master how to make a sushi and kudos to the staff and the chefs at the restaurant to make such amazing dishes.

The grand appearance of our Teppanyaki chef “June” started off his tricks by introducing himself with love and egg. Here is the pic of the love for us by Chef June.

He is a master of many trades, One of them is cooking.he had a few more tricks up his sleeve,With deck of cards and juggling with eggs .He was a perfect entertainer and one of the finest dining experience i must say!!! MY fellow bloggers were looking forward for the flying rice and they weren’t disappointed. We were offered The garlic fried rice which was brilliant. He prepared ebi yakimeshi (prawn and egg rice), niniku yakimeshi (burnt garlic vegetable rice) for my fellow bloggers and they also enjoyed it as well.

As we finished our dinner. We were full to the brim, but the desserts were tempting that we had to make space to try it.
Burrping all the way, after a perfect meal were the signs for me to return back soon to Reppan for another gastronomical experience.
