Bangalore Orphanage’s Kids made a music video for Justin Beiber

On Tuesday, 3rd February, starting at about 11 pm, 250 volunteers from around India are going to Twitter Bomb a popstar in Los Angeles. Their aim is to get the popstar to watch a music video made by the kids in an orphanage in Bangalore. The kids are in immediate need of housing as they have been asked to leave their current rented housing within the next year. So the hope is that the popstar helps them build their future home from where no one can ask them to leave.

This music video features 25 children, from the orphanage under the NGO Reaching Hand. They are beatboxing and singing their favourite song, which happens to be a Justin Bieber. Buzzfeed found this video and said that it is actually a “likeable” version of the song.

The video is definitely cute featuring the kids, singing, painting, beatboxing, hulahooping, juggling– all skills that they built from workshops conducted pro-bono by local artists. The artists include the hip hop act, the Low Rhyderz, Gunjan of Fun’damentals, Smita of Lightin’Up, Shaktiraj Jadeja, Davin Lama, and Jacob Cherian.

The Twitter Bomb was the brain child of a former employee of Reaching Hand, Emily Parkes. She and Jacob Cherian had been fruitlessly tweeting Justin Bieber with the hope to get him to watch his biggest Indian fans. And so she came up with the idea of getting a large group of people to simultaneously tweet, targeting the popstar. Apparently this idea already exists in the world and it is called Twitter Bombing. She has written all about it on her blog, which can be found through the redirect linke

Today, there are ten groups of volunteers on Facebook, all linked by the hashtag #homefor500– totaling at over 70 volunteers on Facebook. Each group is captained by one person that is on the “core team”. A captain’s job is to ensure that all his team members tweet on time, as 70 people sending out 15 tweets each would result in a total of 1050 mentions of the #homefor500 campaign, with every tweet targetting @justinbieber .

However this may not be enough to get his attention as the traffic on his page is ridiculously high. We are in desperate need of more volunteers to ensure that he does not miss this Twitter Bomb.

What the kids really need is a place to call their home without the fear of constantly moving. The project will around 1.5 million USD and in turn will house 500 children. Hopefully the big JB will jump on board and give a home to this kids that love him to death.

Here is our letter to the #homefor500 volunteers on

Hi #homefor500 volunteer,

Our big aim: To get Justin Bieber to build a home for 500 children

How will we do this:

We will Twitter-Bomb the popstar Justin Bieber by sending out more than 1000 tweets with the hash tag #homefor500 and will target .@justinbieber .

Each person sends out a MINIMUM of 15 tweets (5 tweets, thrice each) from each of our accounts at 11 pm at 3rd February (India time) OR around noon 3rd February Los Angeles time.

We believe / hope / wish / will that he watches the video created by his distant fans in India and step up to help, after reading about their immediate needs: a permanent (non-rented) home of their own.
