Global foodies delight : Singapore

Singapore also known as the “Red Dot” is a melting pot of sorts for travellers across the globe catering world cuisine at a single destination.

Who isn’t a foodie,Anyone who relishes good food is a foodie and all of us do that as well:) . Be it a veggie like mr or a hard core non vegetarian,None of you will be disappointed by the array of lip smacking offerings available at your disposal in singapore,be it the street food or the indian or vegan or italian cuisine or seafood or mediterranean one.The best of food with varied flavours are available that will leave you craving for more.

As a veggie, have had trouble getting good food in South East Asia.But Singapore proved me wrong with their vast spread of various types of cuisines offering exotic, delicious food fit for your tummy.We were lucky to explore some of the best vegetarian options in Singapore and they were just out of the world and i meant it.

Have a look at the dishes we got to try out at a star hotel, a cafe and Speciality restaurant.Each of them cater to various type of people,but were equally wonderful.In my recent trip to Singapore on formal invitation from Singapore Tourism Board & Tigerair, i tried to explore the same.

Obviously, being an indian, you wouldn’t feel away from home with Saha,Indian Restaurant with a twist of interesting ingredients and molecular cooking. Saha is located on Duxton Hill road in Singapore.

Saha is the brainchild of Chef Abhijit Saha ,A well known chief in India.Saha was started by an Indo-Russian couple, Saha’s menu is curated by Chef Abhijit Saha.The decor is pretty warm and rustic and once you are seated, you are greeted with an ipad with menu which has set menu and also ala carte.

The Aloo Papri chaat was just delicious and the presentation was priceless.

The highlights of Saha is molecular cooking and showcasing food in an all new avatar. One of the best dishes we had was Vegetable Stew which is presented like a mousse and is made of Citrus pudding with garlic crumbs, black olive powder and cracked pepper. This was served with Kerala banana chips in a cocktail kind of glass. It had liquid nitrogen which makes you feel light and also gives a very beautiful texture for the same.

Even the traditional mini idly with sambar was just brilliant with such simple flavours.

Spiced baked cauliflower was also cooked perfectly with sesame peanut crush and coconut chutney.

The desserts was one of the best have had in recent times and i drool everytime i see the pics.

Artichoke on Middle Road as a artistry cafe which had some unique Mediterranean vegetarian dishes in the offering.The hummus, baba ganoush with pita bread was just authentic and perfect.Truly a place to visit.

Another famous Vegetarian joint in Singapore is Real Food –Its a grocer cum cafe with books. It serves healthy, organic vegetarian food which was just lovely with fresh vegetables.The Restaurant gets crowded most of the times and the popularity speaks for itself.They are located in 110 Killiney Rd Eu Tong Sen St and Sinaran Drive.

The last but not the least is Oasia Hotel which i was staying during the trip and i must confess i did love the italian and continental affair that i had, be it pasta or salads or sandwiches.Every was just picture and stomach perfect.
