My Experience with Tata Zest & RCB Association #ZestUpRCB

Tata Zest as we all know was launched at The Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi.The sub-compact sedan is first of its kind car in this segment which offers first-in-segment features such as a turbocharged petrol engine and a diesel powered AMT(automated manual transmission). Tata Zest does have a challenge in front of them with competitors such as Honda Amaze,Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent and by the looks for it,Tata Zest looks like a very formidable player.As said earlier,Lot of time, Effort and research had gone into it, especially with their Engine “Revotron” which is a game changer and trust me, Experience it to believe it.

As i got the diesel version to do a spin off.As we got into the car,i noticed that the engineers have done a fantastic job with every minute design detail on the car.The steering had a total new feel compared to the existing sedan cars especially the comfort level of steering and driving the car.The Car interiors had dual-tone colour features that lights up the car and gives a very chic look to the car.

The car has a all new-age infotainment system by Harman Kardon which is first of its kind and the top end car is loaded with 5-inch touch screen panel that controls the audio system and climatic control AC.Though the voice recognition of the car wasn’t very easy to sync up and operate as each syntax had to be exactly how the system has been programmed to comprehend them, else the system did not recognize it.But the touch screen was pretty easy to use and did give the car a different feel.The diesel powered Zest I was driving had manual controls and the quality of the dashboard was good and certainly better than the previous tata cars.

he performance of the car came into play when you changed the mode of drive to sports and the handling and the drive was very smooth and i must say, it was as smooth as knife cutting though butter and even a person who doesn’t know to drive car and try out the AMT and would handle it with ease.

The diesel engine- 1.2 litres is a first of its kind that produces 89bhp and 200Nm.But i felt the power was missing in AMT compared to Petrol version and the 1.2-litre ‘Revotron’ petrol engine is designed to deliver superior performance, power, torque and mileage.There are three driving modes – City, Economy and Sports.The “City” mode is as per the name goes, its perfect for city rides and the “Economy” is supposed to make use of the maximum efficiency of the fuel during rides and my favorite,The ‘Sports’ mode lives up to the name of Zest, gives you a peppy ride and also the throttle you expect it to unleash when you push the button.The gearshift and the braking and all are in synchronous and pretty much in place for a perfect ride.

last 2 months, you would have noticed huge hoarding, TVC and digital posts everywhere and TataZest were official sponsors for Royal Challengers Bangalore and the partnership of Tata Zest and RCB is a perfect combo as the flair of ABD and Kohli and Gayle perfectly fits with the USP of the car with its smooth drive and drive modes to throttle and zest up just like ABD does with his innings.

In All, i would say, this is one of the best Compact Sedan i have ever seen and definitely the next generation car for the next generation families in India.Try it out once to Get the Zest in You. #ZestUpRCB.
