The Second season of the Golden Eagles Golf Championship hosted by Krishnapatnam the country’s largest all-weather; deep water port on the east-coast of India as Part of the port’s ‘Golfing for Greater Good Initiative’. The exclusive tournament seeks to raise awareness about the CSR arm of the company.KPCL Golden Eagles successfully teed off In Style in Bengaluru on 17th September ’16 & the consecutive game held in Pune and the final leg of the second season on 08 th October, 2016 at the Hyderabad Golf Club.
Some of the Renowned celebrities like R. Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh and 12 times women’s golf champion Sharmila Nicollet were at the tournament who exhibited their expertise while playing and interacting with the other participants and other professional golfers like Ankita Tiwana, Meher Atwal and Siddharth Semwal among others besides other golfers from various parts of the country.
The second season of the tri-city tournament panned across Bengaluru, Pune and the final leg held in Hyderabad was hugely cheered across the industry and witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 corporate golfers across the globe.
R. Madhavan shared his experience playing Golf and interacting with participants at #KPCLGoldenEagles “As an actor you are always exposed to a lot of action on the sets but golf is just the opposite where one is just left with his devices ahead of the shot. It is one game I want to try and see how it fits into my personality. I enjoy the sport a lot, so much so that I have encouraged my whole family to play golf and we now indulge in family outings to enjoy the game.”

We had 2 sets of game, one in the morning session and other one in the afternoon, the weather has been plying hide and seek and was raining on and off but didn’t dampen the spirits of the golfers.

The Krishnapatnam Port Golden Eagles Golf Championship TM is part of the port’s ‘Golfing for Greater Good Initiative’. The exclusive tournament seeks to raise awareness and support for various causes of education, healthcare, wellness, employment among others through the CSR arm of the company through various golf-related activities. The current tournament will be raising financial support for a retired Sea- men’s Trust. The tournament houses the top industry golfers from across sectors inclusive of partners, customers and business associates of the port.

Krishnapatnam Port which is fast becoming a port of choice for all international cargo originating from and destined to the Southern and Central India, is the first and the only port to implement a single window system for business facilitation. The port with a transit storage area of 6800 acres has the country’s largest waterfront area of 161 sq. km, and a depth of 20.5 metres. Its current draft of 18.5 metres can accommodate full-sized cape vessel of 200,000-tonne capacity.
